There is a lot of conflicting information out there, so we have used the two official sources to come up with our figures, namely the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA).

Using these sources, as of May 2025 we can tell you that there are 166 licensed casinos operating in the greater Las Vegas area.

For many people, when they think of Vegas they are referring to the famous Las Vegas Strip. If we take this area alone, there are 39 casinos operating on the Strip today. If you are looking for more details, here is the full list of every licensed casino currently operating on the Las Vegas Strip:
