Who IGT is today
IGT is now a privately held gaming technology company owned by funds managed by Apollo affiliates. On July 1, 2025, Apollo completed its acquisitions of the former International Game Technology PLC’s Gaming and Digital business and Everi Holdings. The combined enterprise operates under the IGT name and is organized around Gaming, Digital, and FinTech.
Why the current identity needs clarification
The former public parent did not disappear: after selling Gaming and Digital, it continued as the lottery-focused company Brightstar Lottery. The official completion announcement separates the current IGT gaming business from that renamed lottery company. Everi remains a brand in selected markets and product lines within the combined enterprise.
